Galatois is registered and licensed by NASFA, North American Selle Francais Assoc. but that registry is no longer active here in the U.S. As of this writing, Nov 2009, Galatois has a breeding permit with Oldenburg N/A. This means that foals bred in 2010 will be eligible for inspection and registry with that organization. Please contact Darkhorse Farm for more information on registry requirements. Arrangements are underway to secure a permanent breeding license with Oldenburg N/A and/or additional registries.

Show Record:
1998: As a 4 year old Galatois competed in the IJF, International Jumping Futurity, and won the Suitabiliy Class with Henri Prudent in KY.

2000: Galatois debuted in the First Year Green Hunters at the Winter Equestrian Festival in FL where he was Champion four consecutive weeks and was Reserve Champion for the WEF Circuit. He also placed 2nd and 4th at Capital Challenge that year out of 46 entries.

2001: As a 7 year old Galatois competed in both the A/A and 2nd Year Green divisions. He had wins in the A/A's at WEF Finale with his owner/breeder Nina Simons, and had consistant placings in the 2nd Years with Sandy Ferrell including Reserve Champion at Middleburg.

2002: Galatois moved into the Regular Working Hunters. His 4' debut was at the Cavalier Classic HS (HITS) in Culpeper VA where he earned good ribbons in every class. Next Galatois went to Lexington National where again he placed in the top 4 in the Regular Working Hunters and was Champion in the Adult Amateurs. At Middleburg Galatois again competed in both the Regular Working earning ribbons in all his classes and the Adult Amatuers where he scored an 86 with his new owner Elise Lauinger.

2003: Galatois began his career in the Amateur-Owner 35+ Hunters with new owner Elise Lauinger. This sucessful partnership continued through out 2004 when Galatois suffered a paddock injury that required some time off from showing.

Through out his show career Galatois competed with a professional in the Green and Regular Working Hunters but he also competed with his Amateur moms in the A/A's or the A/O's. Galoubet, Galatios's sire, is well known both here and in Europe for producing very talented jumpers that are, it is said, more suited to a professional ride. Galatois is the exception to this. He is very AMMY Friendly and so are his offspring. He was purchased in 2002 by Skip and Elise Lauinger specifically to be Elise's new A/O horse. They were not at all interested in him as a breeding stallion. Elise writes: "I had a serious injury in 2001 which kept me out of the Amateur Owner division due to a lack of confidence on my part. It is a true testament to Galatois that he was the horse I, Skip ( husband) and Sandy Ferrell (trainer) agreed would put me back into the ring at 3'6". And he did that. Gallie (barn name) has become my equine partner and best friend."

Sandy Ferrell, Trainer writes "Galatois is not only fun to ride, but a joy to train when Elise is on board. He knows and enjoys his job, making my job so much easier....His attitude, scope, and desire are proving him to be a perfect horse not only at the professional level but in the Amateur ranks as well."
