Za'Czu as a 2 y/o begins his HB career at Upperville June '06

Za'Czu: 2004 colt by Czulu out of an imported Irish TB mare. He was born February 3rd at 10:30 pm. This is Czulu's first foal! Za'Czu is a good sized colt with a very typey head, good shoulder and the look and conformation to be a good Hunter Breeding candidate. These first pictures were taken at 3 days old. I expect him to mature to 16'2-3. He is handled daily and is already started in a halter. He is friendly and easy to work with. Za'Czu is IHF nominated and PHR registered.

Oct '04: Oldenburg N/A inspection at Darkhorse Farm: Although Za'Czu is not eligible for registration this year because his sire Czulu has not yet been presented for stallion approval, Dr. Karsten Kuel, our German Inspector, generously agreeded to take a look at Czulu's first offspring. Dr. Kuel was very complimentary of this weanling saying he would have earned an 8.6 for movement if he were being scored and was of the type and conformation that is being sought. A good start for Czulu as a young stallion prospect. Two trot shots added from this inspection.

Feb '05: Conformation picture taken at the USEF Judges Hunter Breeding Clinic held in Tucson AZ. We took Za'Czu to get some experience and he was well received by the large group of clinicians 'winning' the Yearling class.

March '05: Congratulations to Edie Larson of Maidens VA on her purchase of Za'Czu. Edie plans to show 'Zack' (new barn name) in Hunter Breeding and have some fun with him while he grows up. Eventually he will become her new show hunter. Edie promises to send pictures. Thanks Edie and big congratulations on this nice young horse.

Jan '06: Edie Larson writes "Everyone who sees him (Za'Czu) and works with him (farrier, vet, dentist) just loves him…he is so smart and sensible, even when my older horses are not. Camille, I can’t tell you how happy I am he is a part of our family. He’s so much fun, very willing to please. He has certainly made a good impression on all who have seen him so far." Thanks Edie, that is what every stallion owner wants to hear from someone who purchased a foal.

Whimczical: 2004 filly by Alla'Czar out of a mare by the Dutch stallion Art Deco so this filly is 3/4 Dutch. She was born March 16th at 1:30am. As soon as mare and foal were settled I contacted Karen Klaas to notify her that Kali had a filly. Karen was interested in this foal and had asked for first right of refusal if it was a filly. Karen and her husband have purchased this filly and have named her Whimczical, barn name Roczie.

Karen says "We LOVE her. Your stallion outdid himself. I am so glad we decided to go this route. As for my plans for her, I do plan to show her on the line. My long term goals are to ride her in the Adult Amateurs and then eventually breed her."

This is a very fancy and typey filly. She is quite a personality and is already a favorite around the barn. These pictures were taken at 2 days old. Karen plans to leave Roczie here at DHF through Oct so she can be here for our annual Oldenburg N/A inspection and then Roczie will go to her new home in St. Leonard MD. Congratulations Karen.

Oct 11, '04 Oldenburg N/A inspection: Whimczical's owner, Karen Klaas, made the trip from MD to come see her new filly for the first time. C'zanzibar is by Alla'Czar and o/o an Oldenburg GOV papered and Oldenburg N/A approved mare. This is a WB foal not a WB cross. This colt was born March 3, '04 and is 3 days old in these first pictures. This is a big colt. I expect him to mature to 17H+ just like his mother. He, again, like his mother is light for his size and is light in his step. He has two high whites on his right side and I think (maybe) two smaller socks on his other side, hard to tell right now. This is a very friendly colt. He is quite socialable. We have started halter work. He is handled daily. He will be presented to Oldenburg N/A in October and he is IHF eligible. He already shows good movement.

Congratulations to Lynn Northern on her purchase of C'zanzibar. Lynn, who lives nearby, says she checks the web page for new foals often. When she saw C'zanzibar's pictures she called and arranged to come see him in person. Lynn is going to change the show name, barn name is now C'zanzibar and Lynn plans for him to be her new dressage prospect. Congratulations Lynn.

Oct "04 Oldenburg N/A inspection: C'zanzibar is now registered and branded Oldenburg N/A. He got good scores including an 8.0 for movement, pictured above. He is 7 months old.

Braczen (pronounced Brazen) which means bold and this name does describe this colt. He is friendly and bold. Braczen is by Alla'Czar and is out of a nicely bred TB mare. He was born Feb 21st at 10:00pm. He is chestnut with a very fancy face with a nice blaze, two medium stockings in front and two smaller socks behind. He also has a small belly spot. This is a more refined colt than the other two colts Paris has had but I still expect him to mature to 16'2+. Braczen is handled daily, halter and feet work and he is good natured and friendly. These first two pictures were taken at a week old. This colt is IHF eligible and has the looks and conformation and correctness to be a good Hunter Breeding contender.

Oct 13th: second set of pics, taken at Darkhorse Farm's Oldenburg N/A Inspction. Braczen is 8 months old and has been weaned for 3 months. He has now been clipped, bathed, mane pulled and braided, all of which he took in good spirits, in preparation for inspection. Braczen is Premium foal with scores of 8.0 conformation/type, 8.1 movement and 8.0 overall impression. Trot pictures taken Dec '03 so Braczen is 10 months old in these shots.

UPDATE Feb '04: Congratulations to Audrey Symowicz from Elburn IL, on her purchase of Braczen. Audrey has been riding for years starting in the ponies and moving into the equitation and jumper rings. Audrey says "I have always loved & admired Alla' Czar, so I decided to look for one of his babies. My future plans for Braczen will be to show him on the line while he's growing up & eventually work our way towards the a/o hunters." Audrey plans to leave Braczen here at DHF through April so the change in temperature from AZ to IL will not be so drastic. Congratulations Audrey.

UPDATE April '04: Braczen has arrived at his new home in Elburn IL. He made the cross country trip safely, is settling in nicely and as this new picture shows is loving the new grass!

UPDATE JUNE '04: Congratulations to Braczen and new owner Audrey Symowicz on their recent Hunter Breeding successes including a Yearling HB win and Reserve Best Young Horse at Lamplight 2 in IL. (pictured above.)

This was his first day out in the pasture.  This gelding is very refined and TB looking. He has two socks behind and one roan sock in front with the nice blaze on a very typey head. This gelding has two full sisters, Czia and Attractive Nuissancz. He is expected to mature to 16'2-3H . Alladin was presented to Oldenburg N/A on Oct 1, '01 at their DHF inspection. These pictures are at 5 1/2 months old. Alladin was High Scoring Premium Colt with scores of 8.2 conf/type, 8.3 movement, 8.2 overall impression for a total score of 8.2. This gelding is handled daily, is very friendly, willing and eager to please. He has been clipped, braided, loaded, tied, etc. He is IHF nominated.

May'04: Alladin is now 16'2+H and is lightly started undersaddle. He is w/t/c both leads and has taken to this work willingly and continues to be good natured and easy to work with. (flat pics)

Aug '04: Alladin goes to Show Park in Del Mar CA for IHF West and is just amazing. He is called in first in the model and is 3rd in the working hunters. Fences are now 2'6" for these IHF young horses. Alladin is schooling 3'3+ at home. He will make a good rated hunter, equitation horse or could go into the jumpers as he has a lot of jump and scope and is very careful.

Congratulations to Brenna Bollig on the purchase of Alladin. Brenna competes in the 15-17 Equitation and Medals and Children's Hunters and is already winning on this 4 year old. The plans are to move this young partnership up into the 3'6" divisions next year. I am looking forward to following this pair into the future. Pictures of Alladin and his new young owner are now up on the "Ribbons" page.

Alexis, barn name Lexi, is by Alla' Czar, out of my TB jumper show mare registered name Sweet Willie. This 2002 filly was born March 21st. She is very refined and typey; very TB looking. She has two medium socks behind and one small front sock and a big blaze. She is very curious and friendly, has started her halter work and has been easy and willing. I expect Lexi to mature to 16'2-3".

Lexi was presented to Oldenburg N/A Oct 14, 2002 and received premium scores with an 8.2 for movement. She was clipped and bathed and braided, all of which she took with good temperment. The first trot shot is from that inspection. Please note that inspections here in AZ are in OCT because of the summer heat so Alexis has been weaned. Lexi is IHF nominated. She is conformationally correct and will be a Hunter Breeding candidate.

March 8, 2003 CARA Horse Show which runs two rings, both Hunter Breeding and Sport Horse, Lexi won both rings in her age group. She was Champion Yearling both sexes, and was High Point Filly in the Sport Horse ring with a score from judge Gurd Zuther of 69.7%. I always do the Sport Horse ring at this show as I do get another good appraisal of my horse.

UPDATE:
DEC '04: Lexi now stands 16H and is growing into a very attractive young horse. She was shown on the line locally and is now the Zone 8 Hunter Breeding 2 y/o Champion (picture above). Lexi was lightly started u/s this spring and has been free jumped lightly. She shows the good jumping form and willingness to go to the jump that is consistant with Alla'Czar's offspring. These under saddle pictures were taken just before Lexi came home for some "off" time.

This is Glass Slipper's (Selle Francais mare by Bonjour) 2002 colt by Alla'Czar. He was born April 11th. He is named for the very distinguishing check mark on his forehead which looks exactly like the Nike logo. He is bay with two high white stockings behind, one medium stocking in front, the check mark on his forehead and a big snip on his muzzle. He is very typey and refined showing the SF breeding on both sides. (Zeus, Alla'Czar's sire, was SF). First foal picture above was taken at 5 days old.

I expect this colt to mature to 16'2-3H. He is very friendly already and has been getting daily halter work, pick up feet etc. He is IHF eligible. He will be presented to Oldenburg N/A in Oct. This colt is the full brother to Czulu.

UPDATE: Swoush was presented to Oldenburg N/A Oct 14,'02 and this second set of pictures is from the inspection. He is 6 months old here and has just recently been weaned. Congratulations to Garland Schmidt on her purchase of Swoush. Garland lives in Baltimore MD and Swoush will be joining her there shortly after inspection. Garland plans to enjoy raising her next show prospect and has acres of pasture planned for Swoush's immediate future. She is not sure yet whether or not Swoush will show on the line, but does plan to compete in the IHF 3 y/o program and then eventually in the A/O's. Garland trains with Sandy Ferrell and Jack Stedding of Monkton Maryland, and Wellington, Florida. Congratulations Garland.

Understated: 2002 filly by Alla'Czar, out of an imported Irish TB mare. She was born Feb 19th, at 10:00 am. She is bay. She has a lovely head, a nice long neck, good straight legs and a nicely proportioned back and croup. She is very well balanced and athletic and is already quite friendly. She has honestly been the easiest foal I have ever had to begin learning to lead. I expect her to mature to 16'2" or so. She is IHF eligible and shows the type to be a contender. This filly is the full sister to Piczazz who was the IHF East Coast Regional Yearling Filly winner in 2001 and the 2 y/o winner in 2002. This filly is equally nice and will be an asset to any good show barn. She will be presented to Oldenburg N/A for inspection in October.

UPDATE: Understated, barn name Sadie, was presented to Oldenburg N/A Oct 14, '02 and received Premium scores with an 8.2 for movement. This second set of pictures is from the inspection. Congratulations to Sarah Eiland and her daughter Krystal on their purchase of Sadie (Understated). Sarah and Krystal live in Jemison, AL and Sadie will be joining them on their farm now that she has completed her Oldenburg inspection. Their plan for Sadie is to compete in the IHF programs and ultimately Understated will be Krystal's Amateur Hunter. Congratulations Sarah and Krystal!

UPDATE: Jan '05 Understated has returned to AZ to get ready for IHF this summer. While she is here we will be showing her on the line. Latest pictures are from our first show where Understated won the 3 year old Hunter Breeding and was Reserve Best Young Horse (RBYH). We are delighted to have this fancy filly back here.

This is Czia a May 24th '99 filly by Alla'Czar o/o Shameless a TB mare. Czia is a '99 First Premium Oldenburg filly, and did quite well on the line her few times out. Czia is a very well tempered mare, easy to handle and wanting to please. This mare is conformationally correct and moves well. She is very typey and will definitely get attention.

2004: Czia has been leased by a 10 year old Rachael Bollig since Nov '03. They began their show career together debuting in the short stirrup and Beginner Rider divisions at the AZ Season Finale HS in Nov where Czia and her young rider did well earning 3rd's through 6ths in big classes. This was their first horse show together and is a true testiment to temperment and rideability. Feb 2004 Czia and young Rachael moved into the Low Childrens division at the Tucson Winter Circuit and again earned good prizes over fences, won a hack, were Res. Champions in the 11 & Under Eq division one week. Mar 2004 Czia and young Rachael moved into the Regular Childrens Divison and were Childrens Hunter Champion at the Scottsdale Spring Classic A rated show. This is quite an impressive display of upward mobility. Czia and her young rider are now featured on our "In the Ribbons/Performance" page. Please click the link to see more of their accomplishments.

In addition to showing in the Childrens, Czia moved into the Pre-Green Division with Rider/Trainer Renae Coates. They are pictured at the top in Tucson where they received good prizes in big classes.

Acztec:  2000 14.2 Hand Gelding By Alla' Czar - SOLD
pictured at the Oldenburg inspectionspictured at one month
pictured at the Oldenburg inspectionspictured at one month
This is Paris's 2000 gelding by Alla' Czar.  He was born Feb 29th, a Leap Year Baby! This is her first foal, so I don't have any sibling comparisions.  I have named this colt, Acztec.  He is chestnut with two medium white socks behind and a nice blaze.  He should mature to 16'1-16'3 in my (best guess) opinion.  He is of  good conformation, very huntery movement, and is quite easy to work with. Nothing bothers this colt.  He leads, ties, picks up his feet for the farrier, etc. He is handled daily and is friendly and has a willing attitude. Acztec was presented to Oldenburg N/A Oct 1, '00.  He scored 8.0 for movement and 7.5 for overall type. He is IHF nominated.

Congratulations to Jesse Coppola on her purchase of the yearling Oldenburg gelding Acztec, by Alla' Czar. Jesse lives in Wellington, FL, and trains with Jimmy Torono. She plans to leave Acztec at Darkhorse Farm for a year to grow up with his buddies and then she and her trainer will decide as to IHF plans for her new young prospect. Congratulations Jesse!!

UPDATE: Acztec, who is now 2 years old and 16+H, has arrived at his new home in FL and owner Jesse Coppola is pleased with her new prospect. She says he is "Fancy with a Capital F!!. He is so smart it won't take long at all (to start him u/s). He is really unbelievable. He is so athletic and what an unbelievable mind". We are looking forward to new pictures.
